Summer tango in picturesque old town

Every year in the three summer months from June to September, Waisenhausplatz in the centre of Berne becomes a place of art, culture, entertainment and fun. Equipped with benches, tables and greenery all around, it blossoms into a special meeting place. With the stage set up on the "Sockel", it offers space for various activities, events, training sessions and performances (dance, sport, music).

From their extensive repertoire of tango events, Camille and Valentino from Sorpresi-Tango offer all tangueros (and those who want to become one) a summer milonga in a beautiful ambience. Popular with tango dancers of all genres, the "Sockel" gradually fills up. It can get a bit cramped. But that shouldn't be a problem. Vals, milonga, classical tango, caminatas, ochos, lapices... can also be performed very well and give expression to the dance and its passion. Sometimes you can even expect a surprise or a special performance.

Also Bailas-Tango invites you to "La Calesita" on the "Sockel" - with a classically elegant flair.

Anyone strolling through the (old) town as a tourist or visitor to Berne is invited to join them. Whether alone, accompanied or with family - everyone is welcome. If you dine in one of the neighbouring restaurants, you can enjoy your dinner to the sound of classical or neo-tango music.
